Over-Deliver: delight campaigns & Moments
Unadvertised $0 surprise-gift campaigns and tenure-milestone Over-Deliver Moments — generosity that's never a save-offer.
WallaB's Over-Deliver tools surprise your subscribers with genuine, unadvertised generosity — a $0 gift or a warm thank-you — delivered after the fact, never dangled as a bribe to stay. A gift is never proposed by the WallaB concierge and never shows up as a cancel-save offer; the surprise is revealed only once it's already on its way. Everything here is off by default and opt-in.
Delight campaigns
A delight campaign sends a bulk, unadvertised $0 surprise gift to a group of your current subscribers at once. It's owner-only, and runs through a clear lifecycle:
- Draft — name the campaign and choose who it reaches (active and/or paused subscribers). A campaign reaches up to 500 subscribers, oldest first. Preview the audience before you commit — suppressed and already-gifted shoppers are always shown and always excluded.
- Schedule (optional) — grant the gifts now, or pick a date and time to send later.
- Send — WallaB fans the grants out through its background job queue, one per recipient. Each gift is $0 and can only be earned once per customer, so a retry can never double-gift.
- Sent — WallaB emails each gifted subscriber a delight note letting them know a little something extra is on the way. Like all marketing email, that note goes only to shoppers whose Shopify customer record shows email marketing consent; a subscriber without it still keeps the gift, but isn't emailed about it.
You can cancel a campaign while it's still draft, scheduled, or sending: anyone not yet gifted is swept to skipped, and anyone already gifted stays gifted — cancelling never un-sends. Every recipient is recorded with an explicit outcome (gifted, suppressed, skipped, or failed), so the campaign is its own audit trail: you can always answer "who received a gift, and why."
Over-Deliver Moments
An Over-Deliver Moment marks a subscriber's tenure milestone — a number of completed billing cycles you choose (for example 3, 6, and 12) — with a surprise. For each milestone you pick what it sends:
- Surprise gift only — grant the same $0 gift configured for Over-Deliver.
- Thank-you note only — send an unadvertised thank-you email with no gift, no offer, no discount, and nothing to buy. Pure appreciation.
- Gift and note — do both.
Moments stay off until you enable tenure milestones, and each is delivered at most once per customer per milestone. A milestone gift follows the same $0, earn-once, allow-listed guardrails as every Over-Deliver gift. Reword the milestone email — and the surprise-gift email — in Email Studio (the "Milestone thank-you note" and "Surprise gift notice" templates).
The one rule: it's never a save-offer
Over-Deliver is the active half of WallaB's "under-promise, over-deliver" posture. A surprise gift or note is a real thank-you granted after the fact — never promised during the cancel flow, never proposed by the concierge, and never a discount dangled to keep someone from leaving. That line is a product rule, not a setting.
