Getting started

From install to your first subscriber: the self-tracking setup guide.

Welcome! This page mirrors the Get Started guide you'll see on your dashboard the first time you sign in. Each step tracks itself automatically — there's nothing to check off; a step completes the moment the underlying thing is actually done.

Take the tour first (about 2 minutes)

The fastest way to get oriented is the guided tour — the card at the top of the Get Started guide. Click Take the tour and WallaB.AI drives itself through the whole product: the dashboard, the AI concierge, and the shopper portal, demonstrated on our sample store (your own data is never touched). You can relaunch it anytime, from any page, via the ? Help panel in the top bar.

The setup steps

  1. Claim your account (about 1 minute). If your account was created automatically when you installed from Shopify, request a sign-in setup link. WallaB.AI emails it to your Shopify store-owner email; open it to set a password, and you can then also sign in at wallab.ai directly using that owner email. This step only appears if it applies to you.
  2. Connect your Shopify store (about 2 minutes). Link WallaB.AI™ to your store. The step completes when the store connection is live.
  3. Sync your products (about 1 minute). Pull your catalog into WallaB.AI — plans, swaps, and the shopper portal are all built on it.
  4. Meet WallaB — tune your AI concierge (about 3 minutes). Answer six quick questions and WallaB drafts save offers and guardrails for your review. See WallaB concierge & guardrails.
  5. Create a selling plan (about 3 minutes). Build your first Subscribe & Save plan in the plan wizard, with a live storefront preview. See Plans & pricing.
  6. Add your subscribers (about 5 minutes). Migrating from another platform? Upload an export and review every row before anything is committed. Just testing your install? Add one subscription with your own email so you have a login for the next step. See Importing subscribers.
  7. Preview your shopper portal (about 1 minute). Sign in to the self-serve portal with the email from your test subscription and see exactly what your customers will see. The portal signs in only your store's subscribers, and for privacy it never reveals whether an email matched — so signing in with an email that has no subscription shows "code sent" but no email arrives. That's the anti-enumeration safeguard working as designed, not a broken mailbox.

Tip

Sandbox mode is fully functional — you can explore every feature, including the WallaB concierge, before connecting a live store or any external API key.

  • Settings — concierge guardrails; customer-portal branding (display name, logo, accent color, and browser-tab favicon); dunning ladder; email domains; SMS; integrations; API keys; and billing plan.
  • Plans — the selling-plan wizard (pricing tiers, volume pricing, bundles, prepaid).
  • Subscribers — every subscription, with bulk actions and the importer.
